Peer reviewed papers, citing real studies with double-blind tests. Or, failing that, actual evidence of real people, who had illnesses witnessed and studied by ‘allopathic’ doctors, from discovery to recovery, treated using ONLY Homeopathic remedies.
You are making the claim, the onus lies on you to provide the evidence.

It is the opinion of many Homeopathic doctors that Allopathy and Homeopathy cannot be prescribed together because they are fundamentally opposed in principles.

Is it? Which Homeopathic ‘doctors’ (and they do not deserve the title) do you mean – and please give me peer reviewed papers and studies that support their assertions.
Are they? What priniciples would these be? And how are they opposed? What evidence do you have for this? What evidence do you have of the principles? What, in fact, are the principles? Please give me peer reviewed papers, citing actual studies, that support this assertion.

In order to cure one must first understand Nature's Law of Cure
Should one? What is this ‘law’ then?

Cure progresses from the center to the periphery.

Does it? Do you have any evidence for that? Do you have any peer reviewed papers, citing actual double blind studies, proving this? What is a ‘centre’? What is a ‘periphery’? How does the ‘cure’ ‘progress’? Any evidence for it?

Diseases progress from the periphery to the center.

Does it? Do you have any evidence for that? Do you have any peer reviewed papers, citing actual double blind studies, proving this? What is a ‘centre’? What is a ‘periphery’? How does the ‘disease’ ‘progress’? Any evidence for it?

Allopathy suppresses symptoms leading to metastasis of disease.

ALL of the hundreds of thousands of ‘allopathic’ remedies/medicines do this? Do you have any evidence for that? Are there any peer reviewed papers, citing actual double blind studies, that show that ALL ‘allopathic’ remedies/medicines lead to the ailment spreading?

Homeopathy CURES.

Does it? Do you have any actual evidence for this? Not anecdotal, mind, real actual peer reviewed papers, citing double blind studies, that showed that Homeopathic remedies had more than the expected placebo rate? It’s my understanding that the most recent double blind study showed that Homeopathy performed EXACTLY to chance and is nothing but placebo.

Incidentally, have you cured a case of chronic disease?

I guessed not.

What a stupid question. I’m an Artist by profession – I state that clearly in my profile. However, my being an Artist has nothing to do with the veracity of my statements or the veracity of the arguments and evidence I have put forth.

Hannah,

If you want to take me seriously,

Freudian Slip?

A)Prove that you know what a chronic disease is.

Uh – the NAME kinda gives it away. A ‘chronic disease’ is one that either lasts a long time or is recurrent. The ‘recurrent’ type is the one that relapses/remissions repeatedly.

B)Prove that you know how diseases progress in the human body.

I’m not a doctor, why would I need to know this? Once again, my knowledge of how the human body works has no bearing on the veracity of my statements.
Also – which one? Different diseases progress in different ways. Also – seeing as you’re a Homeopath, I’m guessing that whatever way I say, you’ll disagree with, because I’ll be talking about it in ‘allopathic’ ways, when you only believe in the ‘homeopathic’ ways.

C)Prove that you know Nature's Law of Cure

I’m not a Homeopath, why would I need to know this? This principle is exclusive to Homeopaths, based on Hahnemann’s writings.
It talks about such things as ‘strong’ and ‘weak’ ‘dynamic affections’. It talks about such things as ‘Vital Force’. It talks about such things as ‘like cures like’ – the ‘strong affection’ being the ‘cure’ that is ‘similar in manifestation’ to the ‘underlying’ or ‘weak affection’.
It talks about all sorts of gobbledegook that hasn’t got a shred of evidence to support it. Why should I learn about it in detail? What would be the point? All I need to know, to refute it, is that there have been NO STUDIES PROVING IT WORKS. Nowhere. None. Zilch. Zip.

D)Finally CURE a patient of a chronic disease. (symptom suppression with drugs don't cut it!)

I’m not a doctor – why would you ask someone who has clearly stated they are not a doctor, to try and cure someone of something?
Oh – perhaps because that’s what Homeopath’s do?

Basically you have come to my blog – and I’m guessing what you did was type ‘homeopathy’ or ‘homeopathy doesn’t work’ or something similar into google – hrumphing and bleating and whining and moaning about how much you think your pet theory is true and efficacious and how much it works, apparently thinking you are so clever to have found some questions you think I can’t or won’t answer.

All you have done is further prove that Homeopaths have no solid grounding to stand on. You brought no evidence with you (because there isn’t any), you made unsupported assertions (because that’s all you can do) and you made references to anecdotal evidence (because that’s all homeopathy has – subjective, anecdotal stories that prove nothing more than customer satisfaction!)

What you have done is try to shift the burden of proof onto my shoulders. I am not the one making the extraordinary claims here, YOU ARE.

YOU claim that water has a memory – and not just a memory, but a selective one! – so YOU need to prove it.

YOU claim that diluting something to such levels that there isn’t even a single molecule left in the sugar-pill, makes them work better than at ‘allopathically’ clinically proven amounts – so YOU need to prove it.

YOU claim that ‘like cures like’ – so YOU need to prove it.

None of this falls on my shoulders. It all falls on yours.

Until someone actually proves, in a double blind study, with papers that pass the peer review process, that Homeopathy works, beyond the predicted chance/placebo effect – I am going to continue to point out that it’s a load of Woo-y nonsense.

Provide the evidence, or shut up.

HWhisperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17540825742359825695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-56204196027393063092009-02-26T18:46:00.000+00:002009-02-26T18:46:00.000+00:00It is the responsibility of the proponent of the t...It is the responsibility of the proponent of the theory to prove that theory.

I am a nurse as well as apsychotherapist- prove to me you know as much if not more than me about the human body- any of the questions you 'asked' rather arrogantly - could be answered through good use of google or cinahl.

Homeopathy does not work- posting stupid quotes out of context that attack people's personalities does not count as proof - when have you ever been insulted on this blog? - never- so what on earth do you think gives you the right to barge in and start insulting people with absolutelt no pramble- shall we do the same to you? is that what you want? it is isn't it- like allhomeopaths you have an idea in your head and you seek the evidence that fits- not the other way around which is the true scintific method.

Now- be a good boy and without insults tellus what YOU can provePsychodivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11915834209325453776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-62541361246767575732009-02-26T18:13:00.000+00:002009-02-26T18:13:00.000+00:00Sorry,That should have read "if you want me to tak...Sorry,

That should have read "if you want me to take you seriously".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-71458422657151509992009-02-26T18:11:00.000+00:002009-02-26T18:11:00.000+00:00Hannah,If you want to take me seriously,A)Prove th...Hannah,

If you want to take me seriously,

A)Prove that you know what a chronic disease is.

B)Prove that you know how diseases progress in the human body.

C)Prove that you know Nature's Law of Cure

D)Finally CURE a patient of a chronic disease. If you go to the link I provided you can get their names and phone numbers. Also, to remain up on the controversey, you ought to read the article in the Journal of Oncoclogy for yourself.
Here's a link with an some testimonials about the effectiveness. As you can see, they are referencing commonly used homeopathic remedies, not some watered dow2wn version of the substances used, as has been suggested. THey qwouldn't have used the word "homeopathic" if they had:

http://www.medkb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/alternative/14633/Homeopathic-Remedy-Ruta-6-selectively-induces-cell-death-in

To be accurate about this, IMO, although the potentized dilutes used, in the study are commonly called homeopathic, their use here was not individualized or constitutional as is common with classical homeopathic treatment, and not in accord to similia, but rather routine.
Another falsifier of the palcebo theory for high dilutes are mthods that can dientify potentized dilutes from their vehicles.
Beta scintillation tests have shown that homeopathic remedies have signatures in the beta spectrum. Check out the work of Rolland Conte and others in France. They published their findings in THEORIES OF HIGH DILUTIONS.
Now, you can bad mouth me all you like, but I'm only the tip of the iceberg. Despite the a priori, heavily flawed meta analaysis quoted here, there are others that come to opposite conclusions. Look at the international Reilly study that was conducted by several researcchers at the academic level, one of them Wayne Jonas, M.D. of the NIH, who himself has conducted a study of inoculative effects of homeopathic remedies on mice.
I know you don't want to believe it, but these reports are piled on a stack of others that come to the conclusion that homeopathy is not placebo, although when you consider the mountain of evidence from simply common usage that these reports sit on, it demonstrates that people don't care how or why it works, they simply use it because it does.
I think the final test is the failure of the NCAHF to prosecute homeopathy as fraud and keep the remedies off store shelves.
A friend of mine was on the board of directors for the NCAHF, magician Jerry Andrus. One night after the show at the local magic club meeting I sat down with him and placed a number of the physical and biochemical studies of homeopathic remedies down in front of him. He pushed them away and put a small note pad in front of me, handed me a pen and asked me to write down all the other crazy beliefs I harbored besides homeopathy. After a few moments of seeing my look of disappointment, he meekly withdrew the pad and quietly said, "I guess that's not fair."
I would suggest that the homeopathy haters give it up. From what I've seen, anyone who takes an unbiased view of it and does a reasonable investigation of it will easily accept the evidence that the phenomenon is akin to radiation therapy operating in the beta spectrum, just above UV. Consdier that the power fouind in a small bead of uranium, equivalent to over a 100 gallons of gasoline. Conte suggests that the succussion used to produce homeopathic remedies creates a tritium reation.
Does that help?
If not, the suggested remedy for sketpicism is Arsenicum. I would also suggest Bach's Vine remedy and a couple of years of weekly psychotherapy.

JOHN BENNETHJohn Bennethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00824607325582860014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-88726437326569337732008-10-28T21:41:00.000+00:002008-10-28T21:41:00.000+00:00this from QuackwatchIn December 1996, a lengthy re...this from Quackwatch

In December 1996, a lengthy report was published by the Homoeopathic Medicine Research Group (HMRG), an expert panel convened by the Commission of the European Communities. The HMRG included homeopathic physician-researchers and experts in clinical research, clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, and clinical epidemiology. Its aim was to evaluate published and unpublished reports of controlled trials of homeopathic treatment. After examining 184 reports, the panelists concluded: (1) only 17 were designed and reported well enough to be worth considering; (2) in some of these trials, homeopathic approaches may have exerted a greater effect than a placebo or no treatment; and (3) the number of participants in these 17 trials was too small to draw any conclusions about the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment for any specific condition [5]. Simply put: Most homeopathic research is worthless, and no homeopathic product has been proven effective for any therapeutic purpose. The National Council Against Health Fraud has warned that "the sectarian nature of homeopathy raises serious questions about the trustworthiness of homeopathic researchers."Psychodivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11915834209325453776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-16965906531747530482008-10-28T20:29:00.000+00:002008-10-28T20:29:00.000+00:00oh- and while you are at it- post a link that work...oh- and while you are at it- post a link that works so that we can read the paper you talk about. If the homeopathic drugs were ineffective, I sincerely doubt that the researchers, real M.D.'s using their real names while putting their careers on the line to treat life threatening cancer, would have included the word "homeopathy" in an oncology report unless there was little doubt in their minds that it showed something more than just possibilities, and feature homeopathy in their report.
What puzzles me is that more people aren't puzzled by the a priori, non sciencitfic method of skeptics.
But please, continue with your knee jerk stupidity. 'Allopathic' doctors should be able to look at this proof and agree.

By 'allopathically' observed, I mean a real documented case of illness, something that any person could contract, that is easily identifiable and that can only be cured using real medical intervention.

By alone, I mean without a single bit of outside help.

Once you've done all this - without resorting to decades old research, quote-mining or selective linking to pseudo-scientific webpages - then I may consider approaching Homeopathy with a more credulous process.

As it stands, Homeopathy is a load of baloney and doesn't deserve the paper its books are printed on.Whisperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17540825742359825695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-53477842232534233642008-10-13T12:59:00.000+01:002008-10-13T12:59:00.000+01:00My name is John Benneth. I'm the one who assembled...My name is John Benneth. I'm the one who assembled the first part of those references . . I recognize the typos! To respond to all this research as quackery I think impugns the credibility of the author.
I mean, come on, some of it was done by medical doctors, such as the head of the NIH (Jonas) in Universities. Who are you to question it? Where are your degrees in the scientific method. Have YOU even read ONE of these reports?
No, of course not. That would show some intelligence and a little concern.
See, I have had many communications, thank you, over the years with skeptics re: homeopathy (70 from Randi) and have found that there seems to be a common pathology to hating homeopathy.
One is that homeopathy haters are ALWAYS atheists. Denial, then, of invisible living forces such as biomagnetism drives them into histrionics and showers abuse on anyone suggesting such a thing. Any evidence and testimonial from anyone . . it doesn't matter what their credentials are . . is dismissed.
My conclusion is that antipathy towards homeopathy is on a level with things like racism, anti-semitism, gay bashing, jingoism and bigotry. It springs eternal out of the breasts of mundane, angry little men bent on gaining some notoriety from their denial, justice for themselves while begging spiritual laxatives.
The bottom line, after revealing the voluminous work researchers have done in the study of the action of succussed high dilutes on plants and animals, and some humans, and seeing how it elicits a particular type of jump reaction from atheists and pseudo scientists, one can only conclude that the latter two have transmogrified their zeusophobia into denial of all biodynamics.
Robert Park and James Randi are excellent examples of it. BTW, I've offered $1000 to anyone who can prove that Randi's offer of a million for proof of homeopathy is valid, has yet to have a taker. Same rules as Randi's apply, the point being there is no intention on the part of skeptics to prove anything but their own exhibitionist rants. Anti-homeopathy is merely a stunt by a bunch of losers to make themselves look superior to others by ridicule.
When challenged to a real debate or test, they ALWAYS back down. Always. What about the Horison test of Benveniste’s basophils? The producer consulted me on that. It was a set up. Go to the people who done what yo0u want to see done, I told them. Rolland Contge, for example. But no. They had to hire their own fools to scrfew it up. That’s the only way Randi will have it. Prove me wrong.
When they see what serious opposition they have in the universities, hospitals and courts, one-eighty. Randi included. He leads the way, through the brambles and the briars, through places a rabbit wouldn’t go . .
If homeopathy was everything the critics say it is, would an MD who uses it in her practice be featured on the FDA website? Check it out. Google it.
Ladies and gentlemen, reasonable thinkers, if it was bunk it would have been outlawed long ago, it wouldn‘t have millions of adherents or be taught in medical schools throughout the world. You wouldn’t find it on store shelves, you wouldn’t hear people saying, repeatedly, in testimony after testimony, that homeopathy worked for them after trying everything else. They don’t care if it’s a placebo, whatever that is, if it works, and its cheeap enough, they want it. That’s what attracted me to it. Nothing else offered by medical science worked for a mysterious skin problem I picked up in Europe, an itchy, dry patch on my side. I went to skin specialists and they didn’t even know what it was. Eventually a friend suggested homeopathy, and within a week I was cured, so I became interested in it, and for a while, was under the false notion, like most homeopathy critics, that there was no valid research of it, that it was some weird mystery. Only when I began to ask if there had been objective tests, did the floodgates of research open to me, thanks to the Deutches Homoeopathic Union.
And so it’s rude, stupid and unnecessarily dismissive to just wipe it away as being quackery. That’s a calumny, a libel. The speaker should some prive, however small it may be, for making it. Perhaps we can extract some retribution for it here by showing just how stupid the homeopathy haters are.
Let’s take the case of Dr. William E. Boyd for instance, a Scottish M.D. who spent years studying the biochemical effects of homeopathic mercury on distase starch enzymes. He commissioned teams of renowned scientists to design the experiment, hired and trained techincians to conduct them, commissioned renowned scientists to review the results and others to double check them, he did work that would be cost prohibitive today. Boyd wrote elegant reports, suitable for replication, and some fool calls this quackery witho9ut ever having read it?
Knighted men walked away from Boyd’s reports scratching their heads without be able to identify the cause of the anomalous yet positive results they evidenced for homeopathy.
And some goofy screed thinks he should be taken seriously for calling it quackery? AM I being too easy on him?. Maybe I should use stronger language to express how I feel about someone who is so derisive of such noble work.
“Who the hell do you think you are? What an asshole!”
Where do people like this come from?
And they base the call for quckery on a foregone, Avodagran conclusion without even reading the report? Come on! What else are they dismissing? Their taxes, their families, their patriotic duty, the innocence of their children? Do they give stones to them when they ask for bread? They probably don’t have children. They probably ate them long ago!
So what good is their opinion, really? In the light of research and popularity, these outrageous cynics continue to spew, and still have proven NOTHING, nothing, and the proof of that is that it continues to grow, as if it has a life of its own, advertised on radio and TV with continued success as popular treatments now for rheumatic pains in pets and humans. It works on plants, I’ve seen it. Since when do plants react to placebos. All that attention . .
Just the other night my wife, who has long suffered and complained of restless leg syndrome, was cured of it within the hour by a dose of 6x magnesium phosphoricum. Now, what good are the critics complaints that it shouldn’t work for her when it does anyway? How can you insist that it’s a placebo when it works on a rhododendron, or triple the growth rate of oat seeds, or it shuts up complaints?
Huh? All Randi and Parks can say is that it’s a delusion. So what if it was? It’s a healthy delusion if it is one. Thank you. But what qualifies tham to MAKE that assessment?
I put the evidence for homeopathy before Dr. Gary Schwartz, a professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona, and he proceeded to demonstrate the physical aspects of it with a test he concocted using gas dispersion spectrometry, a test he conducted with Iris Bell, MD. So how is it that he has to do the work that Parks, the physicist, should be doing, and won’t, designing a repeatable physical test, while Parks and Randi go on crowing about insanity, the thing that Schwartz is the authority on?
Is something starting to smell here? AM I the only one that notices it? I don’t think so. I can see the look on the faces of some readers. THEY GET IT.
What I’ve seen is that if they’re honest, as soon as they get their hands dirty doing the actual test, THEY STOP BEING CRITICS! If they’re not so invested in a negative outcome, they put their theories aside and take it for what it’s worth once they’ve seen it work, the dog get better, his coat shines, the pain stops, the wife stops complaining, the plaqnt grows taller.
Yes, admitting it is a difficult thing to do when you’re an EGOMANIAC and you’ve made a career out of telling people it’s madness. Sure.
THEY GOT IT!
Well, I’m sure there’s more than one lesson in there that could be expressed with a maxim. GOOD.
Amazing.John Bennethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00824607325582860014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-87989901858125808602008-07-09T16:53:00.000+01:002008-07-09T16:53:00.000+01:00WTF? all that research is quack researchcelebrity ...WTF? all that research is quack research
celebrity suport of anything does not make it true

old research has generally been disproven by now through real scientific methods

loads and loads of substances can affect microbes and small organisms yet have absolutely no effect on the human body

you are either a troll or a hoeopathic nut who will believe anything - why don't you put all that stuff on your own blog? why troll it in a comment?Psychodivahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11915834209325453776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4454234482976112028.post-53814104902299744332008-07-07T12:45:00.000+01:002008-07-07T12:45:00.000+01:00But you are showing the one side of the coin & re...But you are showing the one side of the coin & reality is there are no of trials where it's being proved that homeopathy works .
1. 1902 P.Jousset investigated the effects of silver nitrate up to 25c on mycelium. He found significant results in their weights, finding that the silver nitrate stunted growth. Controls were used. “Beyond the Boundary of Sensibility of Living Protoplasm” Zeitschrift fur die Gesamte Experimntalle Medizin, 34 pp.279-306

6. 1925 G. Stearns & M. Stark reported the action of microdilutes on fruit fly tumors. In this fascinating study we see that microdilutes actually altered the genetics of their subjects. A genetically determined tendency to tumor formation ceased to exist after the administration of a microdilution of the tumor itself (isopathy). Controls were used. Other microdilutes were used to no effect. “Experiments with Homeopathic Potentized Substances Given to Dropsophilia Melanogaster with Hereditary Tumors”, The Homeopathic Recorder, 40.

7. 1925 G. Stearns tested microdilutions of salt on guinea pigs and demonstrated adverse affects from 30c to 1000c sodium chloride. He noted loss of appetite, aversion for bread, loss of weight, their young poorly nourished and scrawny, less active, indifferent, hair less glossy, rough, untidy, eyes watery, lack luster. And homeopaths brag that their “remedies” (which are actually legal drugs) can do no harm! There were 16 female control animals, and they all became pregnant, whereas only 31% of the 48 female experimental animals became pregnant. At the end of five months over half, 55% of the experimental animals were dead compared to only 35% of the control animals “Experimental Data on One of the Fundamental Claims in Homeopathy”, The Journal of the American Institute of Homeopathy, 18.

8. 1927 Karl Konig used microdilutes to experiment on frogs and fungi. He discovered that by using dilutions of of lead and silver nitrate ranging from 1 to 15c he could cause a premature metamorphosis in Rana fusca (common frog tadpoles) or kill them or the fungus in the water. Once again here we see that homeopathic drugs can have negative organic affects. Controls were used and the sinusoidal curve that we see in many experiments of diverse measures is first noted here. “On the Effect of Extremely Diluted (”Homeopathic”) Metal Salt Solutions on the Development and Growth of Tadpoles. At 12c he also reported a significant increase in the mortality of tadpoles, and also obtained a repetition of the sinusoidal curve. “The Mortality of Tadpoles in Ultra Solutions” Zeitschrift fur die Gesamte Experimentelle Medizin. 66 pp. 533-538

10. 1930 Persson, WM enzymes, The Principles of Catalysis in Biochemistry and Homeopathy, J Am. Cyclodextrin molecules behaved the same way. So did the organic molecule sodium guanosine monophosphate, DNA and sodium chloride. Dilution made molecules cluster five to 10 times bigger than those in the original solutions. Growth was not linear, and depended on the original concentration. Geckeler and Samal found that the more dilute the solution inthebeginning, the larger the aggregates become, and only worked in polar solvents like water, in which one end of the molecule has a pronounced positive charge while the other end is negative. Department of Zoology, Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal, India. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine whether potentized homeopathic drugs and their diluent media differ from each other with respect to their Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra.
2. DESIGN: FTIR spectra of Nux vomica 30C, Lycopodium 30C, Santonin 30C, Cina 30C, Cina 206C, Cina 1006C, and their diluent media 90% ethanol and Ethanol 30C were obtained in the wave number range of 2000-1000 cm1 at 20 degrees C. Potassium bromide powder soaked with the potencies, pressed into pellets, and air dried were used to measure the spectra. Because water structures in homeopathic potencies are thought to carry specific information on drug molecules and because O-H bending vibrational band (v2) exclusively belongs to water, the study was restricted to the bands in that wave number region. Alcohol has no absorption in the O-H bending region. RESULTS: The potencies were found to differ from each other and their diluent media in the number of v2 bands, their wave number (cm1), shape, and half-width (cm1) of the bands. This randomized double-blind study involving 81 children was conducted in Nicaragua in cooperation with the University of Washington and the University of Guadalajara. The results showed that, the individualized homeopathic medicine showed clinically and statistically significant improvement in the children’s diarrhea, compared to the children treated with placebo. Children that received homeopathic medicine recovered from infection 20% faster than the children treated with placebo. The children who were more sick reacted to the homeopathic treatment in a spectacular manner. In total the study used 18 different homeopathic medicines selected on an individualized basis according to the symptoms of each child.

5. The effectiveness of homeopathic treatment was proved is diabetic retinitis. (Zicari, et al., "Valutazione dell'azione Angioprotettiva di Preparati di Arnica nel Trattamento della Retinpatia Diabetica," Bolletino de Oculistica, 1992, 5:841-848).

6. White mice were exposed to X radiation with a power of 100 to 200 rad (non lethal dosage) and were then evaluated after 24, 48 and 72 hours. Ginseng 6X, 30CH and 200CH and Ruta graveolans 30CH and 200CH were given before and after the radiation. In comparison to mice who received placebo, those who were administered with homeopathic medicines presented significantly less damage in cells and chromosomes. (A.R. Khuda-Bukhsh, S. In a study conducted in the Moscow People’s Friendship University, the electric activity of the muscular wall of the stomach and duodenum was studied after the effect of the homeopathic medicine Nux Vomica (A. Zavadskaya, K. Privalova, S. Pasin, G. Loukas, Department of Homeopathy).

8. In an experiment using cats the effect of the medicine Nux Vomica 30CH was studied after applying it to the region of electrodes in the cardia of the stomach, the body, the pylorus and the duodenal bulb. After the application of the medicine, the muscular activity in the body increased by 3.2 times, 2.1 times in the pylorus, while in the duodenal bulb it was reduced by 2.2 times. The experiment proved the ability of the homeopathic medicine Nux Vomica to have an effect on the function of the stomach. The results of this experiment agree with the results of the homeopathy experimental proof for this medicine.

9. In another research conducted in the same university, the endurance of mice under hypoxia conditions due to the administration of the homeopathic medicine Hydrogenium Peroxydatum 30CH was studied (A. Chochlov, A. Zavadskaya, Ch. Efstathiou, G. Loukas, Department of Homeopathy). Two groups of mice were used, one of which received homeopathic medicine and the other placebo. Mice who received placebo were the healthier ones while mice that received the homeopathic medicine were the weaker ones. An experimental model was used, where the two groups were placed under high altitude conditions. Mice that received the homeopathic medicine showed faster and better adaptation to hypoxia conditions. Furthermore, when they returned to normal conditions, they reverted to their normal state more quickly and had longer life duration than the mice of the other group.

10. In another research conducted in the same university, the effect of the homeopathic medicine Berberis vulgaris on the lymphatic drainage was studied (A. Zavadskaya et al.). Plant tincture and homeopathic medicines in the 3rd, 6th and 30th potency were given to mice. Initially the time of drainage of the coloring substance from the intestine to the mesentery was measured before providing any medicine. Then the various medicines were tested and the drainage time was measured. The study of the results showed that the potentized forms of Berberis vulgaris increase the lymphatic drainage while the corresponding plant tincture contains it. Especially the 3rd and 6th potencies increased the drainage more in the intestine than in the mesentery while the 30th increased it to the same degree in both the intestine and the mesentery.

11. First double blind study: This cross-over study ever performed was done by homoeopaths. This impressive study was done concurrently in eleven different cities on fifteen subjects. The following summarizes a number of good double-blind Homeopathy studies including both LABORATORY STUDIES as well as CLINICAL RESEARCH. HOMEOPATHY also has a most IMPRESSIVE ACCUMULATION OF STATISTICS that has been acquired over The last 200 years. In a time and age when medicines have a rapid turnover due to harmful side effects or ineffectiveness, Homeopathy has stood the TEST OF TIME. As basic truths will always exist, so have the remedies of Homeopathy. It should be known that In 1975 the U.S. CONGRESS OFFICE OF TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT estimated That only 10-20% of all CONVENTIONAL MEDICAL PRACTICES have been shown to be EFFICACIOUS BY CONTROLLED TRAIL. 1

EARLY HOMEOPATHY RESEARCH — To the surprise of most, The FIRST DOUBLE BLIND CROSS-OVER STUDY EVER PERFORMED was done in 1906 BY HOMEOPATHS. This impressive study was done concurrently in eleven different cities on fifteen subjects. This particular experiment consisted of 665 pages, which was The Research Provings of BELLADONNA. 2

Also at the turn of The century. a book was published called "The LOGIC OF FIGURES or COMPARATIVE RESULTS OF HOMEOPATHICAND OTHER TREATMENTS. This book provides dozens of charts comparing dis-ease and death rates in Homeopathic and Allopathic Hospitals. This also included the epidemic diseases of scarlet fever, yellow fever, typhoid. etc. The HOMEOPATHIC HOSPITALS usually had 50 TO 80% LESS DEATHS PER 100 PEOPLE, depending on The disease compared.

Another early double blind Homeopathy study was sponsored by the BRITISH GOVERNMENT DURING WORLD WAR II, The experiment demonstrated that those given Homeopathic Remedies experienced SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN BURNS FROM MUSTARD GAS in comparison to those given a Placebo. A 1982 review provided further substantiation of the statistical significance of the Homeopathy research. 3, 4

LABORATORY EVIDENCE — The number one criticism of the scientific community has been the "infinitesimal" nature or the dilution principle of Homeopathy. Homeopaths do agree that once a remedy is diluted beyond 24x or 12C potencies. they are diluted beyond Avagadro's Number (6.23 x 10-23) which theoretically indicates that no molecules are present in the original substance. However, both LABORATORY AND CLINICAL RESULTS over The last 190 years have demonstrated definite effectiveness with Homeopathic remedies beyond this dilution.

A recent NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE (NMR) study showed that all twenty-three different Homeopathic Remedies and Potencies tested had DISTINCTIVE READINGS OF SUBMOLECULAR ACTIVITY, while The Placebos did not. This demonstrates That homeopathy's function is not so much chemical but energetic. As Chiropractors, you will observe dramatic clearing of sensory nerve Interference and pathological reflex activity causing chronic recurring subluxation activity and dis-ease.5

ANTIVIRAL

A recent double-blinded study has shown THE ANTIVIRAL EFFECT OF HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES EIGHT OF THE TEN remedies tested INHIBITED VIRUSES in chicken embryos from 50 to 100 PERCENT depending on The potencies used.6

HEAVY METALS

The respected journal. HUMAN TOXICOLOGY. published a study showing that Homeopathic doses of arsenic eliminated crude doses of trapped arsenic that had been previously fed to rats.7

LOWERED SERUM CHOLESTEROL

Four German Scientists at a Veterinary College showed That Homeopathic Chelidonium had LOWERED SERUM CHOLESTEROL when given twice a day to rabbits on a cholesterol rich diet.8

REDUCED LABOR PROBLEMS

British Veterinarian, Christopher Day, had conducted several pilot studies demonstrating how Homeopathic Remedies had REDUCED LABOR PROBLEMS in cattle. STILL BIRTHS in pigs, and MASTITIS in catlle.9

ANTI-CANCER

The Cancer Research Center in India found that of the 77 mice That received a transplant in FIBROSARCOMA, 52 PERCENT SURVIVED more than one year with Homeopathic Remedies. The 77 mice That were untreated died within 10-15 days.10

PAIN CONTROL

Scientists at a BRITISH SCHOOL of PHARMACY found that rodents given Hypericum were able to INHIBIT PAIN RESPONSES. Rodents were able to remain on a hot plate longer than the control group. When given NaLoxone. which inhibits pain killing endorphins, the protective effects of Hypericum was reduced, showing that Homeopathic Hypericum activates endorphins when needed. Please note that these rodents were free to walk off the hot plate whenever discomfort was noticed.11

ALLERGIES

Homeopathic Apis and Histamine have a significant effect on reducing the release of certain allergy-causing chemicals from Basophils, which demonstrates one reason for Homeopathy’s positive effects on allergies.12

IMPROVED IMMUNE FUNCTION

A respected pharmacology journal showed that Homeopathic Silica had a significant effect on STIMULATING MACROPHAGES in mice, which destroy foreign particles, bacteria, and old cells.13

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

CLINICAL EVIDENCE: The British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology published a double-blind Homeopathy experiment on patients with RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. An IMPRESSIVE 82 PERCENT OF THOSE GIVEN A HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINE EXPERIENCED SOME RELIEF OF SYMPTOMS, while only 21 percent of Those given a placebo experienced any similar degree of improvement. 14

DENTAL NEURALGIA

Another double-blind Homeopathy trial was conducted on patients with DENTAL NEURALGIC PAIN FOLLOWING tooth extraction. An impressive 76 PERCENT of those given the Homeopathic medicine Arnica and Hypericum EXPERIENCED RELIEF OF PAIN.15

VERTIGO & NAUSEA

The respected GERMAN PHARMACOLOGICAL JOURNAL demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in REDUCING VERTIGO AND NAUSEA with a Homeopathic combination formula.16

REDUCED LABOR TIME & COMPLICATIONS

French researchers recently completed a double-blind trial using a Homeopathic Formula to TREAT PREGNANT WOMEN. The study found this Homeopathic Formula to REDUCE LABOR TIME and DECREASE ABNORMAL LABOR. The average labor time of the women given the Homeopathic Formula was 5.1 HOURS, while the Placebo Group was 8.5 HOURS. ONLY 11.3 PERCENT OF THE WOMEN GIVEN THE HOMEOPATHIC FORMULA had any ABNORMAL LABOR, while 40 PERCENT of the Placebo Group had an ABNORMAL LABOR,17

THE HOMEOPATHIC RENAISSANCE

DIGNITARIES WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HOMEOPATHY:

In England, The Royal Family has regularly used Homeopathy since the 1830’s. Today, QUEEN ELIZABETH II is a patron to the famed Royal London Homeopathic Hospital and PRINCE CHARLES is known to carry Homeopathic medicines whenever he travels.

GAY GAER LUCE. Ph.D. (twice winner of The National Science Writer’s Award) said that, "Homeopathy is a highly developed health practice that uses a systematic approach to the totality of a person’s health. Anyone seeking a fuller understanding of health and healing will find Homeopathy extremely important and applicable."

MARK TWAIN once said: ".... (For) the introduction of Homeopathy, which forced the old school doctor to stir around and learn something of a rational nature about his business. YOU MAY HONESTLY FEEL GRATEFUL THAT HOMEOPATHY SURVIVED THE ATTEMPTS OF THE ALLOPATHS (THE ORTHODOX PHYSICIANS) TO DESTROY IT." Harper’s Magazine. February 1890.

WILLIAM JAMES stated that, "An enormous mass of experience, both of Homeopathic doctors and their patients, is invoked in favor of the efficacy of these remedies and doses."

JOHN D. ROCKEFELLER thought that Homeopathy is a "progressive and aggressive step in medicine."

MAHATMA GANDHI declared that, "Homeopathy. . . cures a larger percentage of cases than any other method of treatment and is beyond all doubt safer, more economical, and the most complete medical science.

DIGNITARIES WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HOMEOPATHY —

IN THE PAST:

Mahatma Gandhi
William James
John D. Twenty-Thousand French Pharmacies now sell Homeopathic Medicines. This survey also stated that six medical schools offer courses in Homeopathy leading to a degree. Homeopathy is also taught in ALL pharmacy schools and four veterinary schools. 18

Homeopathy is growing so rapidly in France that a recent cover story of Le Nouvel Observateur, one of France’s leading magazines, noted That President Mitterrand and six Medical School Deans had called for more research on Homeopathy. 19

Homeopathy is experiencing widespread popularity in Europe. but it is even more popular in Asia, especially India. Pakistan. and Sri Lanka. Homeopathy has spread like wild fire in India due to its effectiveness in treating both the acute infectious conditions and chronic maladies on the sub-continent.

Presently, there are over 120 four- to five-year Homeopathic Medical Schools, and 100,000 Homeopathic Practitioners in India. 20

Homeopathy is also growing widely in South America Mexico, Greece, Belgium.
